Background
Bethany Aronson, Ph.D., is an associate professor of psychology. She has her Ph.D. from the University of West Georgia, where she specialized in critical psychology and psychoanalysis. Prior to joining Point Park, Aronson was an assistant professor of psychology at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Ky., and a special needs assistant for children with behavior problems in Prince Edward Island, Canada.
She currently has two solo-authored books, Sexual Difference, Abjection and Liminal Spaces: A Psychoanalytic Approach to the Abhorrence of the Feminine, and Understanding Contemporary Diet Culture Through the Lens of Lacanian Psychoanalytic Theory: Eating the Lack, as well as one co-authored book, Subjectivity in Psychology in the Era of Social Justice. Her research and teaching interests include psychoanalytic theory, child development, the psychology of horror and the psychology of love.
